Fly fishing can be a captivating experience and is restricted to catch and immediate release. It is allowed from the months of September to May but prohibited during the fish spawning months of June, July and August and on auspicious days of the Bhutanese calendar. Golden mahseer and Copper mahseer are the types of fish and fly fishing sites includes Manas river, Junction of Mangdechhu and Wangdigang chhu, Pertegang to Ringdebe and others. People try out fly fishing for recreational purposes, therefore fishing is restricted to the use of rod, reel ageling and artificial flies with a single barbless hook. Depending on the types of guests, international, regional and local, fishing comes with trained guides and levies fees according to the zonal distribution. A combination of skill and patience makes the fly fishing exciting and an adventurous activity.
