Held at district’s Dzong, Zhemgang Tshechu was first time observed in 1975. During this annual festival celebrated in spring, different mask dances are performed for three-days aside variety of regional folk songs and dances. The festival concludes with unfurling of huge thongdroel (large tapestry) of Guru Rinpoche, on last day. Apart from its religious significance, festival is also an occasion for locals to get together, socialize, forge new relationship all against the backdrop of colorful religious ceremony. Each spectacle is a testament to the enduring legacy of our tradition and culture.
