Details
Dungkar Nye is one of the holy sites blessed by Guru Rimpoche in the 8th century. The name of the place “Dungkar” is derived from conch shaped hollow curved into the large boulder. It is believed that Guru Rimpoche has subdued the demon using the Dungkar, which has left the print of Dungkar on the rock. The Nye is located alongside Burgangchu which is one hour walk from the Buli GC road before reaching Buli village. The visitors offer butter lamps, smoke rituals and also conduct the rituals and prayers during the auspicious day.
